Bored bored bored

May 10, 2009 by voch

“I am super bored to my nerves and bones” that is how my FB status sounded like. I think I am too much into FB since the beginning of the year that I have to admit ‘addiction’ is just the right word to describe the routine. I have tried to cut down by surfing on mobile only but more often than not, I still do login when I reached home after work. BAD BAD BAD habit.

I just subscribed to this company plan and I am getting the new DiGi BB which I am quite excited. I’d like to see how much bandwidth can I suck from it before it become really commercialized among the public. *Shhhhh :P

Anyway, I’m just going to post some random stuff cos damn malas and bored but noting to do so I blog, this is a video clip of what we boys did before we went to Jakarta. A door bell prank at 4 am in the morning :P

My daily caffeine fix. Me and my 2 other colleagues go for our brewed coffee from the coffee machine everyday! its an owesome routine which I really like and best of all its free :D I’ll go for latte-O everyday.. sorta fell in love with coffee without sugar..

I finally had the chance to gonuts over donuts! Bought my first dozen of Krispy Kreme in BTS yesterday. Boy was I excited making my way to their outlet like Homer… Ngeh ngeh ngeh *saliva drips* Packed the dozen for my siblings cos they love donuts.  The last time when I was in Jakarta two years back, I remember vividly how I was stoning and staring at their donut racks they ended up offering me a free treat of donuts.

080520091325

This time round, I was offered a free glazed donut as well!! What luck, he he. It was also the only one I ate because I thought I should save it for them to dig in later plus everybody complains how chubby I’ve become lately (the hairdresser, my colleague and everyone else) hahahahah wtf..

080520091323

Had Nippon Tei for dinner, my fav have always been the chicken nabe katsu dish with rice but thought I should go for something different this time. Had a bento set with everything in it… main dish, miso soup, salad, cawamushi?, soba and some misc stuff.. It all looked cool until I noticed this tiny tray with sliced garlic, wasabi, bird egg?! and spring onion. Was damn curious how to eat it cos I am damn nOOb la kan. Jo didn’t know how to deal with the egg too so I decided I should ask the waiter. He taught me to crack them into this bowl of seaweed tasting liquid and mix everything else then dip my cold soba in it.. I was amazed lol I think he must think how stupid I was but don’t care laa..

080520091328

Cruised home after dinner and this horror movie I was forced to watch. If ya’ll haven’t seen it, go watch COMING SOON. Blardy scary shiet.. haha shall not kasi potong stim incase any of ya’ll read this. Go watch in the cinema.. Lemme repeat, you have to watch it in the CINEMA! Tiki convoyed with me from Cyber to PD after that.. As soon as we reached PD, went yamcha with the boys like any usual weekend outing and later ended up chilling by the beach in Tanjung Tuan which was honestly a beautiful holiday gateaway. I wish every hotel could maintain and be like this..

090520091333

We lepak at the pool chair by the beach, sang fcken old school boy band songs, talked cock, had some drinks, ate lotsa kua cis and dump the shells on the beach hahaha.. But Navin said it’s organic so it’s cool :P I dozed off half way through and they continued memekak in the midst of the morning until 6am when we decided to ciao. The breeze and the sea waves were really owesome last night. I’d never give this up for anything man…

090520091338

Okay its pitch dark I know hehe.. Okay la I’m gonna go watch some Prison Break and the recent episodes of Russel Peters to kill my boredom. Chowster!

Long delayed Jakarta finale

April 28, 2009 by voch

Due to my already well-known laziness, thus the very late wrap entry of Jakarta. Today was sort of the highlight of our trip or rather the whole reason we made this trip to begin with. The day started off by visiting this cool and creative mall called fX, which I thought was quite weird for a name. Well they had many other giant malls with the likes of names: Taman Angerrik, Mangga Dua, Pondok Indah, Ciputra Mall etc. hurrmm..

img_4239

Not only being a huge mall itself, there is a giant slide called the ‘AtMostFear’ placed right in the middle connected all the way from top floor which was Level 9 if I remember correctly. The 70 – 80 metres long of adrenaline test was among the attraction to tourists like us. We did not get the chance to try it because it was only opened much later. We went to have an owesome breakfast in this cool cafe called Panini (Yes, I know it sounds like your ‘punani’)

img_4253

Don’t chu love that sofa corner so much. We practically terrorized that spot and made a big huu haa which was quite malufying but wth.. Below are some uncensored scenes (hehe) of spidey and her tikiman.

img_4255

After exploring the mall for a bit (check out the Indon chics, hehe), we headed off to JCC for the Java Jazz Fest! Bought our door tickets, Roze wanted to catch Jason Mraz live but to our dismay the ticket price hiked up to Rp. ONE mil from the original Rp. 350k. Such lousy ticketing company…

img_4269

Anyhoo although we didn’t made to see Mr Mraz, we did literally ‘posed’ with him. wahahha.. Jadilah tuu..

img_4295a

Fellow invited artists, both locals and international already began strumming their ballads when we walked into the entrance. And the crowd was already quite mad considering it was only early afternoon. Little did I know that this indoor convention hall turn out to be so huge with so many different common areas and large halls. We took our programme leaflets and walked into the first show which was Glen Dauna Project.

img_4318a

Let’s just say they believe in starting young over here, this little boy is the son of the pianist below. They were both talented and the team played beautiful jazz rendition.

img_4338a
We walked in and out of so many different halls to catch all the different artistes till I lost count and track of them. This guitarist below is owesome and he’s from the Harvey Mason Quartet. The drummer was suppose to be the highlight but I couldn’t get a decent shot, the crowd was too overwhelming you see.

img_4357c

After several more sessions, we stopped for teatime at the coffee house. Wacked like nobody’s business cos we were too hungry after all the commotion and sticking in and out of the heavy crowd. Boy, you need good stamina even for Jazz Fest weh!

img_4430a
The last show we watched was by Glenn Fredly which was tributed to Chrisye, an Indonesian legend. His performance was purely fantastic, I’d say he’s a true performer because he knew just when and how to tease the crowd with his rythm of music. Night was closing in and we managed to catch some local booming artists among the locals before we took off. It was an entertaining day at the Java Jazz nonetheless very very tiring too : P Good experience to be remembered.

Chandra then brought us to this restaurant cum sky bar at the summit of a tall building. Can’t remember how many floors there were but it was sure pretty damn high. I had a fulfilling sandwich with my fruit punch, fell in love with the absolute thirst quencher!

img_4461a

It happens to be Chandra’s birthday in two days time so we decided to throw him a surprise. To our amaze, the crowd turned out to be very creative and artistic with their version of birthday intro. Now I see why they are all talented musicians, haha.

img_4475a

I guess we all had a great time in Jakarta… the food, the party, the companies, the fun, the Java Jazz, the cheap shopping and what not. Gotto run, ciaos!

Jakarta continues with food

March 25, 2009 by voch

Good morning Jakarta. It’s day 2 and we’re all out to hunt for food, interesting places, the walks of Jakarta and whatever that comes in the way. Set out considerably early although we missed the breakfast, walked out on the streets of Blok M and the weather was all shiny and the clouds were mesmerising.

img_4038

Walked into the Blok M mall and sneaked around for breakfast. Came across this really funny bunting which says Nasi Goreng Gila!! You’ll go crazy eating our fried rice or our fried rice is crazy, vice versa. You go figure~

img_3965

Ended up in some crapppy restaurant eating soto ayam with some weird name bite snacks called cireng or something. But we just belasah cos damn hungry… Them exchanging sunnies and posing :D

img_3970

We walked in the mall abit, saw alot of cheap stuff. Converse/puma sneakers at RM50 – 70 bucks , Adidas warehouse sales, chicsss :P and everything else. Roze bought these mini ice cream at one of the stalls inside the mall. They gave us a membership card too, hahah damn cute.

img_3993

We set out on the roads again, wandering aimlessly. Blind leading the blind, so we called ourselves. Saw a couple of bajaj’s racing on the streets. Apparently, it’s the cheapest mode of transportation around here. Rp 5,000 for quite a distance = about RM1.50?

img_3959

We saw this interesting street stall selling these kuihs so we bought em to try. There were pandan and kaya flavour i think, and both were delicious. We later found out that they call them ‘kuih tetek’. wtf

img_4030

Walked non stop and went in and out many many many malls until we sweat like pigs and almost break our legs, we decided to stop for lunch. We opted for nasi padang which the locals recommended and they told us to head to this famous restaurant ‘Nasi Kapau’. And we were served with loaaads of dishes, we ate like nobody’s business and it was indeed a very fulfilling lunch.

img_4069

Then we went back to the hotel to freshen up, ended up pigging for like 2 hours cos we were all exhausted. After recharging we were all set out for our dessert in the late evening. We went to the Cheesecake factory cum super nice cafe.

img_4151

We ordered each a different kinda cheesecake and drinks to go with our teatime. There were American cheesecake, tiramisu, strawberry cheese, choc cheese and so many other delicious cheese based pastries. The one below is damn delicious we can’t get enough of it.

The boys with their satisfied faces

img_4178

Next Bongky came and had his share of choc cheese and off we headed to the eX mall, one of the luxurious mall in Jakarta. We first headed to Hard Rock Cafe where I bought some souvenirs and collectible items. We later ended up in this posh restaurant dining to Masakan Manador, a delicacy in Indonesia. Can’t remember what’s this called but its corn deep fried and it’s super crispy to go with rice and dishes.

img_4224

Sate manador, both spicy and honey coated ones. They are absolutely scrumptious. There were many other dishes like the fish with spices, squid, veg, spicy chicken etc etc.

img_4235

After the crazy dinner, we headed out for some jolly good time experiencing the crazy night life in Jakarta. Went club hopping, saw one of the largest clubs in Jakarta, crashed into a friend’s private party with DJ, drank tequila right from the bottle and sat on a fast and furious ride.

07032009994a

All in one night and before we called it a night, we experienced the street food which was pretty interesting.

070320091003

Good night folks, I’ll write more soon.

random.

March 20, 2009 by voch

Haha.. I’m just bored. Catching up on my tv series. Had Sub-of-the-day from Subway for dinner and a java chip frap take away to go with Claire Bennett & Peter Petrelli saving their species..

Anyways, just random.

Reminds me of koala bears and how Kun relate to how they’ll die of heart attack if you clap your hands real loud in front of them. Apparently they’re weak creatures. But still, koala rocks wtf. hahaha

theindifferentorange

When life throws a lemon at you, you give them an indifferent orange. Whatever…

blog1wg4

Shit this one is freaking funny. Reminds me of my dad who just can’t stop watering his garden day in day out since young. He just love the greeneries, it’s in his blood.

Last but not least, peace yo! Make love not war.

Jakarta voyage

March 19, 2009 by voch

Has it been that long since we came back from Jakarta? Haha.. The trip was in short, fantaboluous. We crashed and had a sleep over the night before, we killed lotsa zombies along the way, woke up really late and rushed to the airport. The usual PD routine! Muahahaa…

Anyway, let the pictures do the talking.

img_3871

Boys be boys, act macho and posing at the airport while Roze did the honor to check us in.

img_3880

Our flight there was of course via Air Asia, cheap ma now everyone definitely can fly. But this plane we got was from Indonesia cos the flight no was QZ xxxx and I tell you it suck. Not because AA sucks but this plane was honestly the worst aircraft I’ve ever sat on. Dirty and old, even flying on a F50 is better. Ya da ya da.. stop complaining I know.

img_3898

The moment we arrived, checked out and met our old buddy Chandra who did a big favour coming to pick us all the way at the airport. The first thing we did was Hoka Hoka Bento, the meal which I missed the last time we were in Jakarta. Tell you, the meal was totally ONZ! At less than RM10, you get a bento set with your choice of fruit juice.

img_3904

Remember I said Chandra did us a big favour? Because after dinner, we travelled into the city to look for a place to crash and got stuck in the blooody Jakarta jam for 3-freaking-hours! It takes only 30-mins to return to airport on our last day during day time on a Sunday, imagine….

img_3913

The crazy jam thus led the smart authorities in Jakarta to declare a new road law. 3 or you’re out!

img_3922

After checking in the hotel, our other old friend whom we nicknamed Bongky came and brought us to eat nasi uduk with their local dishes. They were ayam penyet, crunchy beef slices, stinging spicy sauce, kacang gravy, es-jeruk and etc. What a fulfilling dinner. After dinner, there were more.

img_3930

He brought us to a niceee cosy coffeeshop and little did we know they had an awesome lounge at the top floor. Decorated with nice japanese lookalike table with comfy sofa, we just chilled and had a good time catching up the old times. There was also a pretty cool concept whereby the tables were coated with large plain white papers and crayons to allow their customers expressing their creativity whenever they like.

img_3936

Caramel ice blended coffee. Damn onz.

img_3937

Last but not least, the boys with Chandra. Honestly, I think this place beats Starbucks anytime for a local coffee franchise. We should have outlets like this in Malaysia. Oh well, there are a lot of things we don’t have. Or should I say we just can’t have them all.

Anyway, More to come :)
