Java Jazz Fest

February 18, 2009

A couple of days back, Tiki texted all of us about making trips overseas perhaps somewhere South East Asia or Australia by year end. He found some really cheap flights and it got me really excited because I’ve been wanting to go Goldcoast/Melb/Perth and what better time to do it than now knowing how cheap the currency has becom e..

By nightfall, we lost that very opportunity because the price hiked up to God-knows-how-much-you-don’t-wanna-know. Haha.. So i pun sedih gila babas la! Then this morning Roze emailed us about Java Fest in Jakarta which got me quite hyped up too considering the last time we attended one was in Penang two years back. The line up looks really good with the likes of  Diana Reeves, Jason Mraz, Brian Mcknight, and many other well known artists in the jazz arena.

Tonight as we were dining in Chili’s, we suddenly went berserk and began hunting high and low on Airasia.com.my for flights via two laptops concurrently. Passport details checked,  travel dates checked, budget checked, event checked…All seems keen and good for a go! I almost purchased the tickets until Tiki realized he couldn’t find his passport’s validity date and also the fact my credit card was jammed *dumb fuck*. Hopes were still high but we were let down a little thinking we’d most likely lose the offer. Tiki decided to rush home and give it a last try. They both arrived just minutes past 12 midnight and guess what, Air Asia extended their offer by an extra 20% discount.

Boy, we went MAAAD! The 4 of us were on conference calls booking the tickets. Andrew who’s now in Dubai will be joining us too. There is just no way not to purchase them. We got the return ticket for RM254 per pax for a 4D3N trip. Therefore ladies and gentlemen;

This is totally random..

I was just thinking of the nyonya laksa and cendol melaka, and it instantly clicked my mind that I was down in Melaka late last year with my still-fresh buncha colleagues. Our company organised a treasure hunt and we reached out to the challenge. It was Daniel’s idea to put us together in a team of 4 – Desmond, Daniel, Fent2 and myself.

Posing sikit before the flag off. We were at the Studio listening to some briefing and each team were given a ‘tulip’ which will guide us all from the flag off point until the final destination which is of course Melaka.

Our faithful & speedy ride, Dan’s BHM xxxx. Shit sorry i forgot your car number plate wtf. hehe. Anyways long story short, the treasure hunt was damn intensed and exciting. We were really the fun buncha group to be with. We strategised like a soccer game (sorta), we sped like nobody’s biz, we cheated (a little), we cracked our heads, we double guess one another, we made silly assumptions, we laughed so hard all the way, we ran like a packed of lycans (Underworld after-effect), we sweat like pigs and all the other fun I can’t remember much of. But I certainly will not forget the incident while riding the trishaw. Check out the video :P

What do you do when you are down in Melaka? Yes, you  feast! haha I didnt take much photos at all cos I ended up eating and not bothering.

Nyonya assam laksa, super hot and spicy. I was drenched in sweat finishing the bowl of laksa, but it was totally awesome.

They didn’t bother about looking good anymore on pictures lol. Attack! hehe okay don’t kill me if you find out my blog :P Anyway we did not win the race. We didn’t do that well hahahaha although we thought we did. Albeit not winning, I guess it was a fun-filled weekend in Melaka.

33 days into 2009

February 2, 2009

It has been an express 33 days into this brand new year and I think I am not quite ready for it yet. This new chapter is beginning to feel so fast I have yet to put any of my resolutions into exercise.

In fact, I think I have not really gotten over 2008 yet. Boy am I slow, so slow. I gotto blame the holidays that took me too long to get over with hehe. I’ve been bumming almost all December and only in the early January that I feel a little heat off my butt.

Anyways, to cut the story short here’s a list of things I’d like to achieve this year in no particular order.

1. To live a healthier lifestyle (Work, eat & sleep at the correct timing)

2. See a dentist (Boy, it has been years…)

3. Plan my work travel properly (It’s a cost effective year)

4. Visit at least one country out of M’sia for a short holiday (Of course, budget for it too..)

5. Clear up the mess in my room (Get the furnitures I’ve always wanted, setup my sound system etc)

6. Take GOOOOD care of my car and learn how to pamper her

7. Treasure my loved ones, family and good buddies

8. Spend some quality time on photography (a new 10-12mm UWA lens perhaps?)

10. Work smart to keep up the pace of my career, exponentially vertically whateverly..

11. Diversify my goals in life, inspire and surprise myself.

12. Savings, savings, savings, savings, savings, savings, savings, savings, savings, savings and more savings!

13. Update my blog, more frequently (errmm..)

14.TBC… (will be updated)

I’m sure everyone has their list of resolutions, whether or not you choose to pen it down or safeguard it inside your brain. I hope you get yours done as much as I’d like to achieve mine.

Let’s hope life will be a fun ride for all of us, all we gotto do is to choose the right seat and pursue after our dreams.
