I crashed…

… my car into a road divider last Saturday.

I’ve never really felt so shaken up in my life. Moments after the crash, I tried to regain myself and subconsciously repeating these words in my head: “Act fast, act fast cos I’m on a highway interchange and somone would just rammed into me any second from now.”

Hazard lights on, got out of the car to check the car tyres and confirmed that they were not damaged. Checked the position of my car which is facing the ongoing the traffic and noticed a bus, a trailer and two cars. Took my chances to alert them with whatever I have, reversed my car and took a slow drive towards the nearest R&R. That was the quickest and most impromptu actions I could think of in such a hazy situation.

Made a few calls, tried to calm myself down but frankly I felt very numb suddenly and was undeniably in a total state of shock. My mind kinda blanked out for few brief moments not knowing what to do. The crash actually took place at the interchange shortly after I exited Cyberjaya toll heading towards the highway. I figured it was the combination of wet road, sharp corner, muds on tyre and my misjudgement which contributed towards this very unexpected crash.

Let me show you how my car looks like after the accident.

Take note of the position of this body piece above the wheel or rather the fender which has been misaligned after the impact of the crash. I could barely open the door to get out of the car and I’m really thankful that the bonnet was not smashed up.

The total repair includes the replacement of the dented bumper with holes, a new headlamp, an internal piece of rod frame supporting the bumper, to reposition the fender and some adjustments. The new parts plus workmanship and paint job cost a total bomb.

I went over to my friend’s place after the crash and she made this ‘police statement’ which she thought could save me from all the explanation and setup a fund in which she became the first donor. We kinda had a good laugh out of it despite knowing I just had a really unforuntate accident. Thanks alot Nad.

All in all, I have to admit that I am suffering from a slight phobia right now especially the thoughts of driving under the rain and taking sharp corners. Thank God I survived the crash without any injuries and I know somehow or rather it was my mistake for not being careful enough when I drive so I’m gonna take this as a good or rather a bad experience and lesson, also a scary one definitely.
