Lobster birthday

November 28, 2007

It was my little niece’s birthday last two weekends and we were all invited to my aunt’s place for a BBQ buffet. Like usual, the food was awesome! Trays after trays of fresh meat with the likes of chicken wings, sausages, lambs, fishes etc. There were also corns, marsh mellow, garlic bread and other misc. I especially enjoyed the grilled lamb very much while the younger ones enjoyed ‘roasting’ their marsh mellows.

The kids were well prepped for the occasion – party hats, candy stripped blowouts, foil horns etc. The birthday princess dressed up in an adorable purple dress.

Just before the candle blowing session, we barbequed a big ass lobster. The colour turned out really great when it was almost cooked. There were also assorted satay sticks made by my aunt with her own recipe of peanut gravy which tasted gooooood.

Birthday girl’s mum hand made this delicious looking chococake with cute miniatures as decorative. I could tell that she was so tempted to eat the smarties on the cake and she was soooo hyper I couldn’t get hold of a good shot from my phone.

Anyways, one helluva night for my tummy:) Happy birthday Rachel!

New lappie

Two weeks ago, I received a call at work from my mum that the DELL package had arrived. I was only expecting it after office hour but I got so excited that I drove home right away for a sneak peek.

I had been eyeing the Dell Inspiron series since I began working. After some internet research via forums, I have decided to ring up the hotline to obtain the best bargain. The truth about buying a laptop is not all about the best specs you can get but it’s about what you need in your portable machine. Every different built has its own advantages unless of course, you are filthy rich to equip the best of everything into one. That, also doesn’t guarantee maximum performance.

So there you go, my custom made Espresso Brown Dell Inspiron 1420. I love the microsatin exterior design and it’s solid overall build quality. The keyboard is really comfy for fast typing and it almost doesn’t get heated at all. Besides portability, the longer battery life is also a plus point for me as it could last up till a maximum of 5 hours with the 9-cell Li-on battery pack, which in return allows longer surfing on wireless.

I’m quite happy with the purchase and the excellent performance for the price paid for. If you wonder why I opted for Dell, it is simply because I reckon they have the best after-service offer.

Carl’s Jr. @ Pyramid 2

November 13, 2007

I went up to KL last weekend to hang out with Jo, Tiki and Roze. We headed off to the new phase of Pyramid to check out the mall. I gotto be honest that the interior design seemed kinda weird to me at first but I’d say it’s quite a unique Arabian concept. We were looking forward to hunt for Carl’s Jr. because the last time I had it was in the cinema, so I wasn’t exactly able to enjoy every bite I had when Alice was slashing zombies in the desert.

Tiki was overjoyed when I spotted the Carl’s Jr signage and we were keeping our fingers crossed until we finally found it. It is open!

Jo ordered the Chili Burger which comes with charbroiled all-beef patty, hearty chili beef sauce melted with cheese.

The Portobello Mushroom Burger I had was heavenly. Charbroiled beef patty and sauteed Portobello mushrooms topped with cheese was simply what I needed after weeks of oriental food @ workplace.

Tiki and Roze both had Charbroiled Chicken Club burger and a Superstar with cheese. We also shared the beef chili cheese fries which was awesome.

Carl’s Jr. is definitely a must try for burger lovers and fast food goers. Tiki and I officially named Carl’s Jr our fav lol. After dinner, we walked around the mall to window shop and later discovered that J.Co is coming up soon!! :D

We decided to smuggle Baskins ice cream for dessert to go with the movie. Stardust turned out unexpectedly good with the likes of the magical realm, hilarious moments with Capt Shakespeare and the miraculous Babylon candle.

Remember to try out Carl’s Jr. if you happen to be in either 1U or Pyramid. I don’t know if the franchise in Midvalley has opened yet, anyone?

[Small talk: Been busy the past two weeks thus the lack of updates. Work ma, acceptable right? More posts coming up soon, I promise ;) ]

I’m sure most of us have either read, heard or witnessed the assembly aka riot happening in the KL city centre last weekend in hopes of fighting for a clean and fair election.

Do watch this podcast if you’re interested as I personally find this compilation rather informative as compared to all the other “huuuu-haaaaa” rumours which can sometimes be very deceiving especially to those who are naive or still new to the situation.

Perhaps one day, a simple and enlightening video clip like this can save us all the trouble and chaos.

Peace!
