Grand Theft Entry™

By voch

I did something seriously frickin’ dumb today. ftw!

Lemme enlighten you guys, I locked myself out of my frickin’ room as early as frickin’ 10am in the morning. ftw! Thank God I wasn’t wrapped in towel after shower, or worse if I had walked out of the room with only boxers.

I was about to head to campus for lecture, which I am already late so I immediately rushed out of the room. Locked the knob and slammed the door. The next thing I know, I don’t have the keys to unlock the padlock hooked onto the grill. So, I panicked and started searching everywhere only to realise that I left my faithful pair of house-keys inside the room. Good thing I remembered that I have a pair of spare keys inside my car. But where are my car-keys? Bingo, they’re inside the damn room too..smartie pants!

So I launched mission GTE™ 101 (alongside with Johnyee and Mike), better illustrated below;

1. A curtain hook pin with two paper clips (out of shape)
2. My Exxon-Mobil Smiles Point card (gone, broke into half), Ugly JJ card expiring this Nov (gone, out of shape) and Johnyee’s expired HLA card (cracked at the edge)
3. Alphabets tracer, uhh? (Bent it like Beckham, already)
4. Matta Fair brochures & Quiksilver Sales invitation card (crumpled, torn)
5. Windows Vista coaster (wrinkled)
6. Random namecards (wrinkled too)

And special item no. 7, the screwdriver! Mike had two smaller ones and Johnyee brought a giant one from his place. The picture below is just for illustration only because I returned back their screwdrivers already.

With all these crazy but improper tools, the three of us tried our best to break into my room for about an hour or so. Sad to say, we failed miserably and even caught blisters in return trying to crack into the narrow slits between the door. We’ve been at wit’s end attempting every possible techniques there is to force the lock to open. I finally decided to give up and hire a locksmith to solve the problem.

All our efforts went right down the drain when this young locksmith chap burgle into my room within an amazing 10 seconds or less. There you go, my very classic attempt of GrandTheftEntry™ 101 into my own room was pawned by the locksmith for a frickin’ RM 40 bucks charge.

Verdict: If you happen to lock yourself out of the room w/o keys, don’t bother digging out all the gears just to break in. Just blardy hire a locksmith, for 40 bucks that is. Call me if you need the locksmith’s number.

Go ahead, laugh out loud!

    Hahaha, absolutely hilarious.

When I was staying in hostel, the prepaid cards were amazingly handy. I was using prepaid back then, and kept 3-4 of them in my wallet. I dunno why, but certainly they were not meant to open doors. The cards can be used to open hostel room doors with little difficulty.

voch: I can’t help thinking how silly I was lol. Plus I didn’t know prepaid cards could be so useful. No wonder there were lotsa theft stories back in hostel those days.

By the way, luckily you didn’t attempt anything as dumb as playing spiderman. MMU has an infamous history of spiderman fatalities.

voch: Haha bro, I’m still pretty conscious. Plus I don’t wanna appear in the daily headlines, definitely not worth attempting sucha thing.
