The Simpsons

June 26, 2007

Meet the Simpsons family.

The Simpsons

Left to right on the comfy orange couch: Lisa, Homer, Maggie, Marge and Bart.

Can you tell who’s the 3 missing members of 742 Evergreen Terrace of Springfield? Now I’m expecting people like Gary and Jo to know the answer, or anyone else who simply love The Simpsons.

Of beautiful corals & tropical fishes

June 22, 2007

We woke up considerably early the next day, all excited for snorkeling. We headed to the reception by 10am and registered ourselves for a half-day snorkeling trip. The package includes the equipments which were the snorkeling mask, a pair of fins and a life jacket for a fee of only RM40. I presume that’s reasonably cheap considering the fact that the guide brought us to 6 different spots surrounding the Perhentian Island.

To start off, we were taught how to breath through the mouthpiece. The trick is to inhale and exhale through your mouth only using the mouthpiece attached to the snorkeling mask. You must always remember not to breath through your nose, otherwise you will enjoy the uber-salty & tasty sea water. We were first brought to the Turtle point and watching turtle would definitely be an easy start because turtles park themselves and move slowly from one location to the another.

You could see that I was acting like a monkey underneath the clear blue ocean. Excited cos first time snorkeling la-kan. lol. The next spot was to see the variety of beautiful corals buried under the ocean. There were many different colourful coral reefs found both in shallow and deep waters. I also managed to see clown fishes (Yes, cute little nemos) hidden mostly in between the jello-lookalike sea anemones, which is some sort like their habitat.

This particular next stop had to be my favourite spot of all. As we dived in, countless numbers of vibrant tropical fishes surrounded us. You could lure the fishes with bits of breads and they will swim into your palms. You could even feel them tickling you sometimes, which was the best part because it felt like a good massage to me. A fish-massage that is :P

Next was the Shark point which we could see baby sharks roaming underneath our feet (Yes, it sounded scary to me too) however they are very mobile so we had to move closely with our guide. We were then brought to see baby turtles preserved by the sea side before we return to the Long Beach. They were extremely tiny and fragile yet very adorable.

We went back to our chalets to wash up and I pestered Navin to cross to the other side of the island. We had to hike through a moderately densed jungle to the Coral Bay Beach to catch the sunset which the locals claimed was a truly amazing sight.

That’s about all folks for a 3D2N stay at the Long Beach in Perhentian Kecil. It has truly been a great experience for me. I would highly recommend those who longed for an island gateway vacation to initiate a visit the Perhentian Island. It is also a plus point for those who prefer an affordable yet enjoyable holiday.

Just doing my part for the VMY 2007!

Final year

June 19, 2007
[Small talk: MMU mgmt has executed new charges on the parking system in campus, from a kind RM1.50 to a sky-high RM12. That's bout 700% hike for a fcken parking sticker. That of course will be tolerable if we are guaranteed a parking space, dumb ass. Somebody, please go complain to Consumers' Rights Organization!]

I came back to the Intelligent City 3 days ago, and got shocked over the news above.

First thing I did was unload my belongings and unpack them. I made two trips back and forth from the car, that showed how much stuff I had brought back home. Such a silly thing to do for just a 3 weeks break. Anyway, before unpacking I reluctantly cleaned my room. Thrown some old stuff clogging and dusting up my room, altered my room’s feng shui and made the bed nicely so I can sleep comfortably that night. The toilet was simply unbearable, not that it has any stench but the tiles were so dirty. I ended up scrubbing the toilet too – tangan lenguh habis. That night before I slept, I first brushed my toothbrush before I brushed my own teeth. Alas, I bought a new toothbrush the next day :D I had a bad backache the next day too. Hmmmm, wrong feng shui?

So, here am I back in Cyberjaya. Been really busy with the Final Year Project (FYP) selection. To start off, I’m not really sure bout my own strong points and that is certainly a very bad sign to kick off the so-called final year. Then there’s also a side exam I have to sit this Thursday for Trust Fund Agent by Public Mutual. Frankly speaking, nothing interest me at all but I’m just playing my part to help out my dad. Thus, everything seems to fall in at the same time.

Boy, time sure fly fast and I’m at the final year stage of my university life. I feel real old right now, and as quoted from Grace, “We’re super senior now edy”.

Btw, I will update the most interesting part of my Perhentian trip next.

All New Transformer

June 14, 2007

I bet most of you have watched the screening of the trailer while you’re in the cinema waiting for your movie to start or perhaps on the internet. But you gotto check this out, it’s like an expansion piece of the trailer.

Awesome, totally.

UV Nation

June 13, 2007

Benny Benassi, Benny Benassi! That was the hype when UV Nation was announced. Highlighted artiste includes Benassi himself, Scott Project and Malaysia’s DJ Desire, Bass Agents etc.

So about the rave.

The 3 of us Navin, Andrew and me arrived in 1U at bout 7pm and I found myself a nice parking spot after accidentaly stealing it from a red Kenari *grins* We filled our starving stomachs with burgers from BK. While gobbling up my Whooper Jr. ®, I could see lots of small kids with their bling-blings strapped with UV Nation tag on their wrists and not forgetting some with their la-la shuffling pants. I didn’t know rave is for all ages?

UV Nation

We then met up with Dan & Sher later on and decided to get to the Roof Top for the event. The queue was snake-long at the parking bay leading to the entrance of UV Nation. When we entered, the place was dodgy dark. We could barely see ourselves and the only element sustaining our vision was the faithful ultraviolet lights, that also for those who were smart enough to dress in white. Daniel was one of them, haha.

We walked towards the bar to redeem our Heinekens, get a little charged up and bumped right into the Main Arena in the open air spot. DJ Desire was spinning then and she was good, probably the best of all I would say.

The moment Benny Benassi took over, the equipments jammed up. Something must have short circuited and the crowd went boo-ing like idiots. People with no patience are pure dumbf**ks. Did I mention that Joey G was the emcee and even he couldn’t say a thing to cover up because the PA system was down. The hitch was fixed shortly after that and Benassi’s entrance was greeted with a firework display. However, his set wasn’t as good as we thought. The one we anticipated so much turned out to be rather disappointing, he was teasing us too much of bland buildups. There were even Coldplay and RedHotChilliPeppers mix but somehow I’m guessing he did not really lift up the crowd’s vibe.

And I don’t know how the heck did we miss Satisfaction because we stormed out of the place drenched in sweat and desperately in need of fluid. It was rather a let down so we went and get ourselves some drinks outside. I also heard that beers ran out by 11pm or so. How does a rave work w/o beers? -_-|||

img_1476.jpg

After we freshened up ourselves, Sher wanted to catch Goldfish in action so we jumped back in but this time into the Urban Room. This place was even darker I could barely see who was spinning on the podium. I could only hear the DJ shouting and giving credits to Goldfish again and again. But the music was good, I guess R&B has always been our thing. So we sorta enjoyed it here a little better than the Main Arena.

Selepas itu, kami pun ciao from 1U and went separate ways back home.

Satisfaction? Nahhh…
