Simply Luna-tic!

May 30, 2007

Located at the top of one of the most happening spots in KL, Luna Bar is the place to be if you like the perfect view to the stars and of the entire Kuala Lumpur city. A setting as exlusive as the roof top of Pan Regency Hotel is sure to draw a decent amount of attention.

After yearning to make it there quite a long time ago, we finally decided to pay Luna Bar a visit after our final paper last week. Believe me when I tell you getting to Luna Bar requires quite an effort as compared to other places. After you park your vehicle, take the lift to Level 7 which is the Hotel lobby. Then you have to switch lift up till Level 22 where you switch lift again to go up to Level 33. You will then need to climb up a flight of stairs up to the rooftop where you will be greeted with an outdoor bar, a pool to die for right in the middle and a surrounding lit with hues of orange and yellow lightings.

So we ordered a couple of drinks from the friendly waiter, whose service was undoubtly good however very poor judgement of the quality of drinks. A couple of cocktails and a pleasant shot each was all that we had that night because the drinks weren’t really good so we refrained ourselves from any further orders. Before we head home, we climbed onto the Mezzanine floor which is the top floor of Luna Bar for its breathtaking view and the night breeze. It was way cooler up here than where we were by the poolside earlier.

From where we sat earlier, I managed to snap a couple of brilliant close-ups of KL Tower and that simply wraps up our trip to Luna Bar. Although nothing much to shout about, it was certainly worth the trip there and I’m quite sure we all enjoyed ourselves one way another.

The replacement

May 30, 2007
[Small talk: Gary and Elaine sneaked out of their church camp and we had breakfast in the kopitiam today morning before I bumped into the replacement incident]

I sat at one end of the grimy chair in the bank waiting for my turn to arrive. I was asked to fill up two forms to replace my broken atm card. Apparently they allow card replacement at free of charge so I decided today I shall redeem my new MBB card.

Truth is I failed to withdraw any cash using the existing one therefore I got frustrated because I was running low on cash. You see, money is important in a certain circumstance – that is especially when you’re broke. I’ve always believed that money isn’t everything that matters. Ok, nevermind and let’s not get on with that.

So I was put on hold for a very long time, approximately half an hour although the bank was empty. If I were to do a head count the moment I got there, it would had been no more than five people. Apparently the ticket I had in my hands was categorised under ‘Lain-lain’ or in other words, Miscellaneous which pretty much explains the wait. I believe MISC is translated as a diverse of less important affairs which is least related to money transaction, in terms of banking that is.

When it was finally my turn, I rushed to counter 6 and handed the malay chap my broken card, IC and the two wrinkled forms. He made me wait for at least 10 minutes because he was apparently busy counting money which certainly wasn’t mine. He even told me to have a seat first but I insisted to just wait at the counter. After all the pretending-to-be-busy, he went over to see his upline and returned to the counter. He leaned forward and told me “I’m sorry sir but I need your dad’s signature because this is a joint account.”

…. which got me on the nerves after such a long wait and with him pretending like he could have processed my application.

In the first place, I have clarified with the receptionist who issued me the ticket that I am a joint account holder without the presence of my dad. This chap at the counter pula refused to acknowledge me and therefore I had to make a trip back home for a bloody signature, after approximately an hour of wait and not to mention a fairly unoccupied bank.

This is why I will never ever have a joint account again and this also portrays how EFFICIENT MayBank can be. I hate it when different individuals spill different sources of information like they know it all, which can really confuse people most of the time. I think it’s almost time I ditch this joint savings account which I had since ages ago and tell my dad to bank into my personal account, which certainly isn’t MayBank.

Cut all the crap and hassle.

Of goodbyes and farewells

May 28, 2007

Today I shall pack up assorted things scattered all over my room – dvds, notes, accesories, camera, clothes, laundry etc. Tomorrow I will be heading home for the sem break. I am usually happy to be able to be back home quickly most of the time yet it feels different this time around.

It’s a blend of mixed emotions when people walk in and out of your life. More often than not, they leave deep foot prints in your heart. Whether you’re near or miles apart, always know that I have faith in you. It’s never gonna be easy to let go and start anew but I’ve always believed you can.

Only time will tell.

I’m damn pissed

May 23, 2007
[Small talk: I'm looking forward to watch Pirates of Carribean 3 and head to Luna Bar, if all goes well tomorrow]

…because I don’t get to watch the match I’ve been anticipating since the last victory two seasons ago. I can’t wait for history to repeat itself and I definitely do not want to miss out cheering for the Reds.

Champions League

All because I have to sit for my final paper, Comm II tomorrow and sadly to say, it is one helluva tough ass.

So, I’m fcken pissed.

[Updates: Can't refrain myself from missing the match. Sad to say, it's the 88th minute now and the scoreboard is 2-1. Milan is leading by two goals and Kuyt nailed one for Liverpool. Sigh, it's certainly not my day ]
