I came back from Kuching last week on the new airbus A340 painted with their recent sponsors of NFL Oakland Raiders. It was quite an experience on the new airbus but I think the plane is still lacking of something albeit looking new on the exterior.  The seats were huge and quite comfy but mine had slight stench which I tried my best to ignore during the 1 hour and 40 mins flight back. The other thing was lack of entertainment which I always thought a bigger plane like this usually have in-store (I heard AA’s other A340s are equipped with lcd screens but apparently you need to pay to watch the channels)

It was such a crazy packed week after I got back, with so many events taking place. First of all, our free seating concept in office had a slight revamp. The management is encouraging us to move about so we are basically ‘relocating to a new place’ so that we can mingle and meet new people. Everyone in the office were basically busy emptying their lockers into boxes to be transported to our new place next Monday. Apart from that, we were all getting lazy because the next day which was Friday was our annual party themed the ‘Shake it, move it’

The whole office practically turned into an adult playground, with swarms of people with colourful tees running about inside the compound. They had more indoor mind-boogling mini games to cater to the crowd of all ages and as soon as we finished them, all gathered for a speech and sharing session at the hall to reminisce the beginning of the yellow army. It was all quite nostalgic and a good montage showing how much we’ve matured over the years. After that we attacked the food and booze counters, chillout and enjoyed the good music and performances on stage all night long. It was quite fabulous!

Anyways, I bet you already notice that all my pics were compiled in this cool picture slides which save a lot of my time inserting them one by one. So I guess I’m just gonna do this for a bit unless I take really good photos which I wanna brag about HAHAHA…

Weekend then came by and I headed back home to hang out with the home boys, flew kites and hung around the beach toasting to Mr Pilot’s birthday. Oh ya, I was cracking my head on what to buy for my sis’s bday until I saw this adorable tortoise which I had to buy to tease her for being such a ’slow coach’ lol

On another note, I couldn’t help but to be affected just like the rest of the whole world who are mourning over MJ’s pronounced death. As much as I want to believe the rumours that the corpse is not him bla bla bla, I think it’s best we accept the fate. The late King of Pop will always be remembered as a legend in the music industry and also an unforgetable celebrity icon. I still remember when I was very young, prolly around the age of 9 or 10 I’d always steal my cousin’s MJ casette to play on my walkman. And here’s one of his classics that I really liked…

Anyho, that’s all for now folks. I’m gonna continue a bit more of my boring rainy day tv session in Bintulu and crash after that.

Comeback

June 21, 2009 by voch

This is my n-th attempt for a blogging comeback, with no excuse this time lol. I’ll tell you why later…

I think I did a lot of crazy and fun stuff over the past months. Top in my crazy list would be the stupidest thing we ever did by ‘accidentally’ crashing a gay party @ Twenty One Bar without knowing but anyhow it was quite a ‘mama blues’ experience which I am quite lazy to write cos I know I am damn long windedddd…. o.O

Next to come was how we impromptuly purchased tickets to Gold Coast by April next year thanks to Air Asia. Nonetheless, the real person to thank is Tiki cos he made the trip possible hehe.. Bukti to berlagak sikit lol, however still miskin ma that is why the trip is planned next year so that I can and need to bump up savings right now!

image004

Also crazy in my list was the adidas warehouse sales I attended.. I was hesitating about skipping work to literally go shop like a girl but I am damn glad I did together with the rest!! muahaha.. The sales was much bigger and better this time around compared to last December’s. Of course ultimately my goal was to grab the Kop’s jersey and a good bargain pair of nice shoes. We had dim sum at 6 freaking A.M and went to Atria where it was located by 8 in the morn. Little did we know there were already people queueing up earlier than us &*(!@^*&^ hahaaa..

290520091449

Door bukak only, all lari like fucks.. They were right about labeling Asians’ kiasu, all cut queue to the max and ran like dogs.. Tunggu apaaa lagiii!? Queue up for 2 hours and let some bloody losers overtake us and rampas my Kops jersey? No fcking way..so we sprinted to be among the first batch too. Freaking hillarious experience I’d never forget! Anyhoww, the end results was a DEEEEEEP hole in my pocket.. T___T

290520091458

One of the weekends too, I finally paid Chubby a visit. Meet Chubby, my-so-called god son. I was surprised at how he likes licking and biting me at his first sight. Totally adorable, I’d buy him a toy the next time i see him :)

230520091444

What else do I do on weekends with the home boys? People say we like the beach, actual fact is we LOVE the beach. Hahaha.. All hopped onto Ajita’s D’Max many many Saturday’s back and I couldn’t believe I actually drove few half naked men who were screaming like idiots.. Damnn insanely fun I tell ya!

230520091436

Last weekend, to celebrate an earlier farewell of a senior colleague we decided to try out Banting’s best “HAK-YI-KAI” or better known as begger chicken in Jugra. This is by far the farthest I’ve driven by myself for a meal cos the journey was 1 and half hours from Subang.. Nearly died of hunger after the long drive!

130620091480

Wondering why they call it the beggar chicken? Idea sounds simple: a whole chicken is stuffed with herbs, wrapped with layers of paper and literally chucked into pile of mud. Process however sounded quite difficult when the chickens had to cooked under hot ashes of charcoal fire. It was quite a disgusting sight honestly despite being renowned one of it’s kind.

130620091479

Hmmmm.. think again, the aftermath does looks pretty enticing. Needless to say, everybody wack the beggar chicken until bones also cannot be seen. There were also beggar duck & apparently beggar pork knuckles but we never did try that. Among the other famous orders were the special rectangularish glutinous rice, pot of hot chicken herbal soup and traditional fish presented in a very unique manner

beggar chic

How to get there? Google for Beggar Chicken in Bukit Jugra or simply spell Beggar Chicken on your Garmin GPS and it will navigate you there! (And oh please remember your in-car charger otherwise you might sesat till Morib or Sepang)

Now back to the real reason I decided to start writing again. I am finally surfing on the long anticipated DiGi’s BB right now, quite excited of the higher data bit rate I am clocking for my downloads and faster surfing speed altogether. Look out for more promotions coming along the way with all the attractive and affordable broadband packages  *promo kao kao bit*

Till then folks, chowster!

It was quite a disgusting sight honestly although its claimed one of its kind but we still wacked when it was served cos damn hungreeee

Of family tree and a whipped cream cuppa coffee

May 10, 2009 by voch

I was working on this powerpoint slides of a family tree from my bau2 bacang relatives. They wanted to make a collection from the last known great2 grandparents until cucu-cicit. Mum told me to continue the ‘tree branch’ for our side of family. When I was going through those already done slides, I found out that that I have a lotsa unknown cous staying in S’pore and apparently I last met them when I was very young. Also found out I have an angmoh looking chun chic cous, lol… Anyway, i included this one family picture I could dig out from my huge chunk of photo stashed somewhere in my x GB harddisk.

I was so stressed last night when nobody was around to go out for a drink. Ended up making myself a cuppa coffee with whipped cream. I felt so stupid after pressing that tub of whipped cream into my perfect cup of coffee because I hated whipped cream to begin with. Maybe I first intended it as a decoration… buthen again it’s not like I was serving anyone. T.T

Must be the boredom driving me nuts. And oh yeah, its Mother’s Day today and I hopelessly did not buy any pressie so both my sis and I made a card for mum. hahaha.. old school man! I remember I hand-made one too when I was younger, like 10 i think.

100520091344
Anyway Happy Mother’s Day to all mums :)

Bored bored bored

May 10, 2009 by voch

“I am super bored to my nerves and bones” that is how my FB status sounded like. I think I am too much into FB since the beginning of the year that I have to admit ‘addiction’ is just the right word to describe the routine. I have tried to cut down by surfing on mobile only but more often than not, I still do login when I reached home after work. BAD BAD BAD habit.

I just subscribed to this company plan and I am getting the new DiGi BB which I am quite excited. I’d like to see how much bandwidth can I suck from it before it become really commercialized among the public. *Shhhhh :P

Anyway, I’m just going to post some random stuff cos damn malas and bored but noting to do so I blog, this is a video clip of what we boys did before we went to Jakarta. A door bell prank at 4 am in the morning :P

My daily caffeine fix. Me and my 2 other colleagues go for our brewed coffee from the coffee machine everyday! its an owesome routine which I really like and best of all its free :D I’ll go for latte-O everyday.. sorta fell in love with coffee without sugar..

I finally had the chance to gonuts over donuts! Bought my first dozen of Krispy Kreme in BTS yesterday. Boy was I excited making my way to their outlet like Homer… Ngeh ngeh ngeh *saliva drips* Packed the dozen for my siblings cos they love donuts.  The last time when I was in Jakarta two years back, I remember vividly how I was stoning and staring at their donut racks they ended up offering me a free treat of donuts.

080520091325

This time round, I was offered a free glazed donut as well!! What luck, he he. It was also the only one I ate because I thought I should save it for them to dig in later plus everybody complains how chubby I’ve become lately (the hairdresser, my colleague and everyone else) hahahahah wtf..

080520091323

Had Nippon Tei for dinner, my fav have always been the chicken nabe katsu dish with rice but thought I should go for something different this time. Had a bento set with everything in it… main dish, miso soup, salad, cawamushi?, soba and some misc stuff.. It all looked cool until I noticed this tiny tray with sliced garlic, wasabi, bird egg?! and spring onion. Was damn curious how to eat it cos I am damn nOOb la kan. Jo didn’t know how to deal with the egg too so I decided I should ask the waiter. He taught me to crack them into this bowl of seaweed tasting liquid and mix everything else then dip my cold soba in it.. I was amazed lol I think he must think how stupid I was but don’t care laa..

080520091328

Cruised home after dinner and this horror movie I was forced to watch. If ya’ll haven’t seen it, go watch COMING SOON. Blardy scary shiet.. haha shall not kasi potong stim incase any of ya’ll read this. Go watch in the cinema.. Lemme repeat, you have to watch it in the CINEMA! Tiki convoyed with me from Cyber to PD after that.. As soon as we reached PD, went yamcha with the boys like any usual weekend outing and later ended up chilling by the beach in Tanjung Tuan which was honestly a beautiful holiday gateaway. I wish every hotel could maintain and be like this..

090520091333

We lepak at the pool chair by the beach, sang fcken old school boy band songs, talked cock, had some drinks, ate lotsa kua cis and dump the shells on the beach hahaha.. But Navin said it’s organic so it’s cool :P I dozed off half way through and they continued memekak in the midst of the morning until 6am when we decided to ciao. The breeze and the sea waves were really owesome last night. I’d never give this up for anything man…

090520091338

Okay its pitch dark I know hehe.. Okay la I’m gonna go watch some Prison Break and the recent episodes of Russel Peters to kill my boredom. Chowster!

Long delayed Jakarta finale

April 28, 2009 by voch

Due to my already well-known laziness, thus the very late wrap entry of Jakarta. Today was sort of the highlight of our trip or rather the whole reason we made this trip to begin with. The day started off by visiting this cool and creative mall called fX, which I thought was quite weird for a name. Well they had many other giant malls with the likes of names: Taman Angerrik, Mangga Dua, Pondok Indah, Ciputra Mall etc. hurrmm..

img_4239

Not only being a huge mall itself, there is a giant slide called the ‘AtMostFear’ placed right in the middle connected all the way from top floor which was Level 9 if I remember correctly. The 70 – 80 metres long of adrenaline test was among the attraction to tourists like us. We did not get the chance to try it because it was only opened much later. We went to have an owesome breakfast in this cool cafe called Panini (Yes, I know it sounds like your ‘punani’)

img_4253

Don’t chu love that sofa corner so much. We practically terrorized that spot and made a big huu haa which was quite malufying but wth.. Below are some uncensored scenes (hehe) of spidey and her tikiman.

img_4255

After exploring the mall for a bit (check out the Indon chics, hehe), we headed off to JCC for the Java Jazz Fest! Bought our door tickets, Roze wanted to catch Jason Mraz live but to our dismay the ticket price hiked up to Rp. ONE mil from the original Rp. 350k. Such lousy ticketing company…

img_4269

Anyhoo although we didn’t made to see Mr Mraz, we did literally ‘posed’ with him. wahahha.. Jadilah tuu..

img_4295a

Fellow invited artists, both locals and international already began strumming their ballads when we walked into the entrance. And the crowd was already quite mad considering it was only early afternoon. Little did I know that this indoor convention hall turn out to be so huge with so many different common areas and large halls. We took our programme leaflets and walked into the first show which was Glen Dauna Project.

img_4318a

Let’s just say they believe in starting young over here, this little boy is the son of the pianist below. They were both talented and the team played beautiful jazz rendition.

img_4338a
We walked in and out of so many different halls to catch all the different artistes till I lost count and track of them. This guitarist below is owesome and he’s from the Harvey Mason Quartet. The drummer was suppose to be the highlight but I couldn’t get a decent shot, the crowd was too overwhelming you see.

img_4357c

After several more sessions, we stopped for teatime at the coffee house. Wacked like nobody’s business cos we were too hungry after all the commotion and sticking in and out of the heavy crowd. Boy, you need good stamina even for Jazz Fest weh!

img_4430a
The last show we watched was by Glenn Fredly which was tributed to Chrisye, an Indonesian legend. His performance was purely fantastic, I’d say he’s a true performer because he knew just when and how to tease the crowd with his rythm of music. Night was closing in and we managed to catch some local booming artists among the locals before we took off. It was an entertaining day at the Java Jazz nonetheless very very tiring too : P Good experience to be remembered.

Chandra then brought us to this restaurant cum sky bar at the summit of a tall building. Can’t remember how many floors there were but it was sure pretty damn high. I had a fulfilling sandwich with my fruit punch, fell in love with the absolute thirst quencher!

img_4461a

It happens to be Chandra’s birthday in two days time so we decided to throw him a surprise. To our amaze, the crowd turned out to be very creative and artistic with their version of birthday intro. Now I see why they are all talented musicians, haha.

img_4475a

I guess we all had a great time in Jakarta… the food, the party, the companies, the fun, the Java Jazz, the cheap shopping and what not. Gotto run, ciaos!
